A vintage hat can make you look like your grandmothers, but it’s the hat that is a real time saver.
“I’m going to wear this hat every day, no matter what,” says Ashley.
“You look like you’ve had a good night’s sleep.
You feel better.
It’s a way of wearing yourself out in a way that you don’t want to look bad.”
Ashley wears her hat to school, the gym and the movies.
She also wears it when she’s on vacation and when she wants to be a part of a group photo.
Ashley is not alone.
There are many women who say they love the look of vintage hats and want to share it with others.
“I would wear it as a little mini dress, or I could wear it in my bra,” says Kristy.
“It gives a little bit of a little more character to my outfit.”
Ashley says she doesn’t care what hat she wears.
“If I’m not wearing a hat, I’m wearing a very casual shirt or pants.”
But if you’re going to be out and about, a classic style hat is a must.
“A classic hat would be something that’s worn with a nice, formal dress,” says Kari.
“Just a great hat.”
The top tips for a vintage hat: dress casual.
Kari says to dress casual, wear the hat for a day or two at a time, but don’t wear it to school or work.
And if you wear a hat for work, be sure it’s not a vintage one.
Avoid wearing hats with long tails.
“A little bit more casual would be a little too casual for me,” says Kelly.
“When I wear a vintage dress, I like to wear it with a short, high-waisted dress shirt.”
When wearing a classic hat, the most important thing is not to make it too long.
“That’s one thing that I like about vintage hats,” says Kaye.
“There’s something so elegant about it.
It feels a little modern, and you can have that feeling of sophistication in your outfit.”
And if a classic has long hair, don’t forget to take care of it.
“To get that vintage feel, I’d like to put it in a ponytail or a braid,” says Katie.
“Those are the kinds of things that make a great vintage hat.”
